Welcome to Turning Back Time, a Marauders' Era RP. We started out quite a while ago and over time have had some remodelings, and this is the latest, but enough chattering about that.

TBT is an RP site for all those who love to RP, be it as one of the Marauders, or one of the Slytherin gang, or just as an original character, in the time that Voldemort was only just rising to power. There are still a lot of open canon places and enough space to RP, so please, feel free to join!

But, please do keep in mind we at TBT ask at least one paragraph per post. Of course, we understand when you're having a bad day, but eight lines is something everybody can manage when they try just a bit.

We hope you'll have a great time here, whether you're just visiting, or staying to play!

Anique and Will

In the past everything was always better people say. Sometimes it's true, other times it's a white lie, to tell themselves it was not them who screwed up, but the current generation. But the past wasn't that much different from nowadays, teenagers were teenagers with raging hormones and like later on, the Dark Lord was rising, gathering followers.

We write the year 1975, and at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry we find teenagers like one might find anywhere, waging small wars about alliances, loves and other things adults might find trivial. For example four Gryffindor friends, James, Peter, Remus and Sirius, or the Slytherin gang, including Bellatrix, Rodolphus, Lucius, Evan and many others. It's always been bad between these two houses, but the conflicts are getting out of hand. A boy has been attacked because he loved the wrong girl, perhaps even by his own house mates. So like outside, inside of Hogwarts feelings are getting heated up.

On the outside things are changing. Tom Riddle, or as he now wishes to be called, Lord Voldemort, is rising in power quickly, and strange dissappearances are the talk of the town. What does this mean for the school? It can never be any good. The staff is keeping out a watchfull eye for any student that may seem sympathizing with the Dark Lord, but even amongst them the opinions are mixed, some find this to be just a new thing for kids, no new threat, others aren't that light-hearted.

So with both staff and students thrown apart, this will be a tough time for Hogwarts, but they'll manage, right?

Hello and welcome to Turning Back Time!

On all websites you might join, you'll see that rules are important, as they prevent arguments, stop people from feeling offended and make things run smoothly. So like on every site, we too have some rules. If you just follow them, I'm sure we'll all get along nicely.

Proboards Terms Of Service

If you make an account on Monsterbooks and Boggarts, you agree to abiding the Proboards Terms of Service. You can find those HERE.
Everybody who fails to abide the TOS, will be banned.

A short summary of the TOS.

You must be 13 years or over on the day you create an Monsterbooks and Boggarts account.
All of your posts MUST be in English.
Posts cannot contain anything mentioning; the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity.
Your posts must abide by any and all applicable laws of the State of California and the US Federal Government.

As for our own rules...

Manners!
Surely all of us have been brought up to be polite to others, so please show it. This means, no fighting, unless it's In Character, about things like House Rivalry. But... If I as much as see one word of fighting between two people Out Of Character, I will ban both (yes, both) temporarily, or even permanently.

Spelling
Please mind your spelling and grammar in your posts. Don't tiip Lyke D1s. It annoys the hell out of people. If you're not sure how to spell something, a dictionary is always good.

Swearing/Bad Language
Please try to keep this on a low. There's no need to put "f*ck" in a sentence every other word. We're not trying to limit your creativity, but surely there is no need for excessive foul language.

Keep IC and OOC apart
Ofcourse you understand that the two should not be mixed. Sometimes hash words fall in an RP, but please remember that that's IC. Don't take harsh words in an RP seriously and start harrassing the person who said them. If any member feels they've been harassed, PM the admin as soon as possible!

Posting
We don't ask much of you, but we prefer posts over one paragraph long. A decent guideline to how long a paragraph is, is five lines.

Killing of other characters and Unforgivables
If you wish to kill somebody character, make sure that you have both the person's and Headmistress McGonagall's permission. That way you can't kill off other characters just for the hell of it. Same goes for Unforgivable Curses. Make sure you have the person's and Headmistress McGonagall's permission.

Keep it real
Please keep your character real. So please, no perfect characters by the name of... I don't know, Raven Moonlight Star, who has hair hanging own to her knees, big sparkly eyes that change colours, the ability to talk to animals, who is a unicorn Animagus. If you don't know what I mean, look up the term Mary Sue on Google.

Origin
Only children from the British Isles are accepted at Hogwarts. This means your character can come from the following countries: Britain, Wales, Scotland, Ulster and Eire. There will be no transfer students from America, France, Bulgaria, or any other country that is not included in the British Isles.

Extra Characters
You are allowed as many characters as you can handle, without letting one or more slip. We suggest you to keep to a maximum of three, however, if you can handle more characters, feel free to make more! Also, keep in mind, you're only allowed two canon characters. For the available canons, see THIS list.

Signature Sizes
Please keep your signatures an acceptable size. It's really annoying if the screen becomes stretched. Also keep in mind the size, because some people might have dial-up, and if you have a huge signature, it causes their internet to be really slow. Please keep your signatures under 550 x 220.

Accepting Applications
The only ones who are able to accept an application are Headmistress Peverell, Bellatrix Black and Rodolphus Lestrange. Please be patient though. When it's really busy, be it on the site or in my personal life, I may not have enough time to sort everybody the same day. So please don't PM me asking to sort you.
